Mercedes-Benz R107 450 SL

This Mercedes-Benz 450 SL catches the eye straight away, and the colour has a lot to do with that. Originally finished in Maple Yellow (606), this SL carries real 1970s character. Paired with the cognac interior, it gives an honest vintage feel. A colour combination you rarely see today, but one that gives this R107 that extra bit of personality.

We purchased this 450 SL R107 from Belgian owners who had owned it for eight years. In recent years it was driven very little, so it was time to give it a second life.

As with many classics that have not been driven regularly for some time, there was some mechanical work to catch up on. That’s why this SL is undergoing a full workshop project: all mechanical components are being thoroughly checked and brought up to standard, and we’re also taking care of a few cosmetic details along the way. The result is an R107 that not only looks good, but is mechanically sound for years of trouble-free driving.

This 450 SL started life as a US-spec car and was professionally converted to European specification using high-quality parts. Genuine chrome-plated bumpers were fitted, for instance, rather than the cheaper stainless-steel reproductions often used for these conversions.
